Goodness gracious what a pity

St Matthew’s has no spare cash in its kitty

Roof repairs are needed, costing quite a lot

Needing cash St Matthew’s hasn’t got

Now fundraising is a high priority

So says the treasurer and the PCC

The left aisle has leaked for years

The right aisle is now leaking

It’s enough to bring on tears

Paintwork is cracking it’s quite a mess

Hope that fundraising is a huge success

St Matthew’s has no spare money

A leaking roof though just is not funny

In fact it must be said

It brings a whole new meaning

To raindrops keep falling on your head.
